NEW PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY

NEW WALKWAY BESIDES ROAD

Recently DBKL covered up the open drain and made a pedestrain walkway besides the main road.

Now pedestrians can safely walk to the next junction without having to walk on the side of the busy road.

An improvement for the betterment of the Cheras community.

Mr DIY Store is opening at Taman Cheras. 

It is strategic located just in front of the traffic light junction at Taman Cheras.

The opening will enhance the image and value of properties in the area.

A new sandwich outlet Subway has opened at Lotus's Shopping Mall today.

Subway offers sandwiches of various fillings and bread.

NEW BOOK : OUR STORIES, OUR LEGACY

A new book of 168 pages named Our Stories, Our Legacy, is being  published by SeniorsAloud Community as a Community Service Project 2022.

Proceeds from sales of this Limited Edition of this book will be donated to a charitable home. 

A minimum donation of RM 30.00 for a copy of this book. 

If you are generous,  higher donations and bulk orders are welcomed for this charitable work. 

A pre-launch of this book can be obtained from a stall at Atria Shopping Mall from 30.09.2022 - 2.10.2022 during the Amazing Seniors exhibition. 

PHASE 1 SUKE OPENS TODAY AT NOON

The Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) has been officially launched by senior works minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who announced that the new highway will be open to the public at noon tomorrow (September 16).

For now, the fully-completed Phase 1 will be accessible. This 16.6 km long stretch spans from the unmissable signature Cheras-Kajang interchange to Bukit Antarabangsa. 

The portion from Sri Petaling and Kesas (where Endah Parade is) to Cheras-Kajang will open at a later date.

The toll fare for the SUKE highway has yet to be announced, however passage is toll-free for one month from its opening tomorrow. The SUKE has three toll plazas – Alam Damai, Bukit Teratai and Ampang. The latter two are in the first phase that is now open.

SUKE has 14 interchanges along its 24.4 km main line length (57.7 km if one includes all the interchanges), and these are Sri Petaling, Sungai Besi, Alam Damai, Cheras-Kajang, Cheras-Hartamas, Bukit Teratai, Tasik Tambahan, Permai, Kosas, Pekan Ampang, Ampang Point, Ulu Kelang, Hillview and Bukit Antarabangsa. As mentioned, the stretch that is now open is from Cheras-Kajang (on the Grand Saga, near Plaza Phoenix) to Bukit Antarabangsa.

The MRR2 alternative is linked to the said ring road, Kesas (at Sri Petaling), KL-Seremban Highway, Sungai Besi Expressway (Besraya), Grand Saga, Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH) and the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE). The future East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE) will also be linked.

Concessionaire Prolintas (which also has AKLEH, Guthrie, LKSA and the upcoming DASH in its highway portfolio) says that SUKE is an effective traffic dispersal solution for the eastern part of KL that is projected to relieve traffic on the MRR2 by 30%, Jalan Ampang by 36% and Jalan Loke Yew by 12% during peak hours.

NEW CAFE HAS OPENED AT TAMAN SUPREME

A new cafe named Roy King Signature Kitchen has opened at Taman Supreme in August 2022.

Located on the first floor of a shop house at Jalan Jintan Manis. 

Now, our residents can savior their food there. 

MRT3 ALIGNMENT

The nearest MRT Station to our Taman is Taman Cheras station.

WEEKEND TSRA COMMUNITY BAZAAR?

To foster a sense of community within our Taman Supreme, maybe our TSRA can organise a weekend community bazaar.

Residents can rent a table to sell their old books, utensils and even redundant furniture, TVs you do not need.

Lakeview apartment at Selayang has organised a community bazaar for their residents.

KUALA LUMPUR: Maxim Global Bhd has the Residensi Maxim Risen, a high-rise property development at Taman Desa Aman in Cheras, with a gross development value (GDV) of RM562mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, it said Maxim Risen is strategically located within a matured township in Cheras, which is well-connected with various major roadways, making accessibility convenient.

"This project is surrounded by various amenities, a healthcare centre and prestigious schools, and also within walking distance to EkoCheras Mall, Cheras Leisure Mall and Taman Mutiara MRT station,” it said.

Maxim Risen is an apartment suite, built on a leasehold land size of 2.60 acres. The two-block apartment will have 1,236 units in total, with prices ranging from RM321,000 to RM513,000

MORE INTEREST IN TAMAN SUPREME HOUSES?

There are a few houses in Taman Supreme being renovated.  

One at Jalan 5/98, two at Jalan 4/98 and one at Jalan Jintan Manis.

Sub-sales of these houses have picked up especially after the floods at Taman Sri Muda and Old Klang Road. People are interested in non flood prone areas like Taman Supreme. 

To some extent,  our freehold properties have appreciated in value. Some link house properties owners here have begun asking for RM 1 million selling prices. 

Can these prices be sustainable?  I wonder. 

TNB CHANGING TO SMART METERS

New TNB Smart meter

TNB recently sent Notice to our Taman residents that they are changing our old TNB electric meters to smart electric meters free of charge.

TNB personnel visited my house this morning to replace the old meters installed in 1996 with newer ones. Just took about 20 minutes.

Smart meters will allow our meter readings to be sent online to TNB via the Internet. 

By doing so, human meter readers need not come to read your electric meters monthly.

END OF JALAN 5/98 REPAIRS COMPLETED

The end of Jalan 5/98 has been tarred. The drains have been upgraded and slope has grass placed on the sides.

If all the works here are completed, then our TSRA Community cabin can be located back at the end of the road again.

Now, the location has a clear view of Kuala Lumpur. The sunset can be seen from here as well.

Once our cabin is relocated, it is hoped that it can be opened to senior residents to meet up at least once a week.

TAMAN SUPREME WELCOMES NOKKA PET GROCER

A new business has opened at the shop houses vicinity.

NOKKA PET GROCER has opened their shop here.

The business manufactures their own pet food for cats and dogs via their own formulation. The food caters for pet food with nutrients that keep your pets in their best of health.

The company also sells their products on Facebook under their brand Good Harmony.

PRIVATE LANDOWNER PLACES NOTICES

Recently our Taman has some notices placed on 31.5.2022 at end of roads 5/98, 6/98 and 4/98 by a private developer who owns a parcel of land in our Taman.

Today a few physical notice boards are erected in Jalan 5/98 and end of Jalan 6/98.

Our peaceful Taman will soon see some disruption. 

SLOPE 2 COMPLETED

9.6.2022

Unclogged drain at Slope 2 today. 

Slope 2 repairs have been completed today. Our gratitude to DBKL for carrying out slope repairs of Slope No. 1 and Slope No. 2. 

31.5.2022

The second slope is being repaired. BRC netting, air compressor and cement have been moved here.

DRAIN AND SLOPE AT END OF JALAN 5/98 COMPLETED

The collapsed drain and slope at the end of Jalan 5/98 have been completed.

Only need to clean up the slope.

 

SLOPE ONE COMPLETED

Since 21st May 2022, this slope in front of the shophouses has been completed.

Second slope rehabilitation to start soon. 

ABOUT 6 HOUSES UNOCCUPIED IN TAMAN SUPREME

There about 6 houses  are unoccupied or unsold within Taman Supreme. 

One house at Jalan 4/98, one house at Jalan 6/98, 2 houses at Jalan 5/98 and another 2 around Lorong Jintan Manis. 

Only 6 out of 200 houses within our Taman are currently vacant. This is about 3% of our total house population.  

There are at least 3 houses being renovated in 2022 and agents have been asking residents here for owner of houses who want to sell or rent out their premises.
